Goodbye 2023: Strong Adolfo's Recap
Goodbye 2023: Strong Adolfo's Recap Celebrating Art and Community.
As we bid adieu to 2023, we stand at the culmination of a remarkable journey, celebrating our last event of the year at the iconic Strong Adolfos. It's time to reflect on the victories, the shared spirit, and the unforgettable moments that defined our quest to resurrect the indoor skatepark.
Our year kicked off with a bang, spearheaded by a triumphant Crowdfunder campaign that saw our community come together and raise an impressive £35k. The beats of Newquay echoed with the energy of events at Whiskers and The Sink Inn, uniting us all under the banner of a common dream.
Fast forward to the past month and a half, where the crescendo of our efforts took center stage at the art auction. Picture this: 24 distinct skate decks, transformed into living artworks, showcased across Bristol in Campus Skatepark, London in Slam City Skates, and Cornwall, with the final stop at the vibrant Strong Adolfos. Each deck became a narrative, weaving into the larger story of our skatepark revival.
Let's talk numbers – the combined efforts of the art auction and the year-long endeavors resulted in an incredible £38,740. It's not just a sum; it's a testament to the collective strength and determination of our community.
As we bid farewell to 2023, Strong Adolfos served as the perfect setting for our grand finale. The energy, the art, and the camaraderie were palpable, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
And now, a sneak peek into what's next: Stay tuned for the limited edition Crail Ale, a toast to our community's achievements, courtesy of Newquay Brewing Project. This isn't just a beverage; it's a celebration in every sip.
But the excitement doesn't end there. The unveiling of Jon Horner's new collection at Strong Adolfos was a showstopper. And the cherry on top – a skateboard deck that will hit the scene this Friday, rolling into the new year with the promise of continued support for our indoor skatepark.
As we close the chapter on 2023, let's savor the victories, the camaraderie, and the shared dreams that have brought us to this point. Here's to a new year filled with anticipation, community spirit, and the unwavering determination to see our skatepark rise again.
